Frequently asked questions
Eligibility
Who is eligible to apply for a personal loan?
You need to be at least 18 years old with regular income credited to a bank account: salary from a private or government employer, a pension, Perkeso, or self-employed income that can be verified from your bank statements.
What is the minimum salary required?
There is no fixed minimum salary. Our officer assesses your ability to repay from your bank statements, not from a single salary figure.
Can self-employed people apply?
Yes. We accept income statements and bank statements in place of payslips for self-employed applicants. The form on this site does not list this option yet, so WhatsApp us on 016-407 9766 and our officer will take your application directly.
Can I apply if I have a low credit score?
We assess your current ability to repay, not just your past credit history, but approval is still subject to our officer's assessment at your appointment.
Do I need a guarantor?
It depends on the type and amount of loan you apply for. Our officer will let you know of any guarantor requirement during your appointment, before you make any commitment.
Documents and applying
What documents do I need to apply?
Three things: your IC, your last three months of payslips, and your last three months of bank statements. If you are self-employed, an income statement can stand in for payslips. Bring the originals to the office. We do not accept uploads through this website.
Do I need to provide payslips?
Yes, your last three months of payslips if you are salaried. If you are self-employed, an income statement can stand in for payslips.
Do I need a bank statement?
Yes, your last three months of bank statements. Our officer uses them to assess your income and your ability to repay.
Can I apply online or do I need to visit the office?
You can start an enquiry by phone, WhatsApp, or the form on this site, but documents and signing the agreement happen in person at our office. KPKT requires loan agreements to be signed at the licensed premises, and it also protects your personal information. We have one office only, in Bandar Saujana Putra, Jenjarom.
How long do the application and approval take?
With complete documents, the approval check usually takes 15–30 minutes. After approval we arrange a face-to-face meeting to sign the agreement, and the money is released by cash or transfer once you have signed. If you are nearby and your documents are already complete, the whole process can be done quickly.
Is my personal information safe?
We don't accept uploads of sensitive documents (IC, payslips, bank statements) through this website. Everything is collected in person. Our enquiry form requires clear PDPA consent before submission.
How do I reach you after office hours?
WhatsApp 016-407 9766 any time: our officer will reply the next business hour (Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00, Sat 9:00–13:00).
Amounts, interest and repayment
What are the minimum and maximum loan amounts?
The minimum is RM1,000. There is no fixed maximum. It depends on your documents and the repayment ability our officer assesses. They will discuss a suitable amount with you during the review.
How much will my monthly instalment be?
It depends on the loan amount, the tenure and the rate agreed. Use the calculator on our interest rates page to see the highest possible instalment at the statutory cap of 18% a year. For example, RM10,000 over 24 months comes to no more than RM567 a month. Your actual instalment is stated in writing before you sign.
What interest rate is charged?
Never above the statutory cap of 1.5% per month, which is 18% per year, for an unsecured personal loan. Your actual rate is set once your documents are reviewed and confirmed in writing before you sign.
What repayment tenures are offered?
Repayment tenure is agreed together at your appointment, based on the loan amount and your repayment ability, and stated clearly in the written agreement before you sign.
Can I settle the loan early?
Ask our officer about early settlement at your appointment. This term will be stated clearly in the written agreement before you sign.
What happens if I make a late payment?
The late-payment policy will be clearly explained by our officer and stated in the written agreement before you sign.
What is the difference between a secured and unsecured loan?
A secured loan requires collateral and is capped at 12% a year. An unsecured loan requires no collateral and is capped at 1.5% per month (18% a year). We offer unsecured personal loans only.
Do you offer business loans too?
No. We offer personal loans only, so we can properly assess and support each application.
